In-Person and Remote Registration

The U.S. Leadership in Software Engineering and AI Engineering Workshop will be held on June 20-21, 2023, both online and in-person in Alexandria, VA. You must register for the event in order to attend and participate in the workshop. Please do not register for in-person participation if you are planning to attend fully remotely.

If you will be attending in person, please register online. You will be charged a $100 fee, which covers the cost of meals and refreshments on both days

Location

The U.S. Leadership in Software Engineering and AI Engineering Workshop will be held on June 20-21, 2023 at the National Science Foundation (NSF), 2415 Eisenhower Avenue, Alexandria, VA, 22314.

Check the Visit NSF website for information on getting to NSF (airport and Metro information) and accessing the building when you arrive.

Start Time and Refreshments

The workshop will begin with breakfast at 8:30 a.m. EDT and presentations at 9:30 a.m. each day. Please see our program for workshop topics, speaker information, and exact presentation times.

Lunch and snacks will be provided throughout the day. There will also be a SEI-sponsored networking reception at approximately 5:30 p.m. on June 20 with heavy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails at Delia’s Mediterranean Grill & Brick Oven Pizza, a 2-minute walk from the NSF Building.

A payment basket will be available for any government personnel who are required to pay for their meals.

Security and ID Requirements

Please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before the workshop’s start time to allow time to pass through security and obtain your visitor pass.

NSF follows the "REAL ID Act" and requires all visitors to bring valid and current identification with an expiration date. Photocopies and pictures of IDs will not be accepted. The Visit NSF website lists alternate IDs that can be used for NSF access if you do not have a REAL ID.

Please send email to leadership-sw-ai@sei.cmu.edu to let the workshop organizers know if you do not have a valid ID.

Recommended Attire

The suggested dress code for the day is business casual. Because temperatures in the session rooms may vary, you may want to bring a sweater or jacket.
