Women in Software and Cybersecurity: Dr. Ipek Ozkaya
June 2019 • Podcast
In this podcast, the latest in our Women in Software and Cybersecurity podcast series, Dr. Ipek Ozkaya talks about the educational choices and career path that led to her current work.
“Unfortunately sometimes what happens is, when you are at that age, you think what you are going to study at school determines what you’re going to do in life. And I give myself as an example…I am not designing buildings. I’m still in the design field, and I’m enjoying it, and I think there’s a lot of learning that comes to it. So what you study does not necessarily define what you end up doing as a profession.”
After earning a degree in architecture, Dr. Ipek Ozkaya studied computational design at Carnegie Mellon University. Now at the Software Engineering Institute, Ozkaya researches better ways for designing software and helping organizations manage technical debt in large-scale, complex software-intensive systems. In this SEI Podcast, the latest in our Women in Software and Cybersecurity podcast series, Ozkaya talks about the educational choices and career path that led to her current work.
