Abstract

In complex organizations building complex systems, we take Agile far above and beyond the 5-7 person teams envisioned by its original proponents. Realizing the benefits we seek from iterative and incremental development requires us to consider the application of Agile and Lean principles not only to software development and test activities, but to related and supporting functions across the system and throughout the enterprise. This presentation discusses how principle-based and data-driven decision-making rooted in Agile and Lean principles can be applied across stakeholder groups and support business and acquisition functions in order for government organizations to realize the greatest possible benefits from Agile development methods.
