Abstract

Humphrey concludes that the process principles discussed have been proven with CMMI and TSP. They are currently being piloted for systems engineering with TSPI, but the critical challenge is to get people to adopt the process principles. Consistently superior knowledge work must include well-defined and consistently practiced principles of personal performance, team-building and empowerment, organizational support and institutionalization, and quantitative performance measurement and appraisal.
