The SEI helps advance software engineering principles and practices and serves as a national resource in software engineering, computer security, and process improvement. The SEI works closely with defense and government organizations, industry, and academia to continually improve software-intensive systems. Its core purpose is to help organizations improve their software engineering capabilities and develop or acquire the right software, defect free, within budget and on time, every time.
CERT Steve Huth is the Deputy Director for Operations in the CERT Program and a Senior Member of the Technical Staff at Carnegie Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute (SEI). He has over 25 years of experience in software development, network design and management, information security, and technical and program management. Currently he is working with the Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology in Qatar to develop Q-CERT and the GCC-CERT.
Prior to joining the CERT Program, Huth was the SEI's IT Manager and the Data Network Manager for the University of Pittsburgh.
