Abstract

AADL/ACVIP User Days 2021 was hosted by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) and held virtually on February 3-4, 2021. AADL/ACVIP User Days is a free two-day virtual forum to present the latest on the Architecture Analysis and Design Language (AADL), the Architecture-Centric Virtual Integration Process (ACVIP), and associated tools.

This presentation by Juan Gutierrez, Prachee Sharma, and Dhruv Monga at Physical Optics Corporation was given virtually at AADL/ACVIP User Days 2021. Avionics System of Systems Simulation and Modeling Tool Chain (ASSIST) is a simulation and verification framework for aircraft systems. ASSIST includes software to parse avionics specifications in AADL; automatically generate mission-specific configurations and simulation models; simulate a System of Systems (SoS) in an integrated test and evaluation (IT&E) framework; and determine whether the hard/soft real-time interdependencies/constraints are met/violated in SoS subsystems. ASSIST’s innovation enables early detection of defects and verification of avionics functionality against system specifications.
