Information technology and security have always had to adapt to advances and changes in technology. The cloud computing environment has been particularly volatile, subject to changes in services, the introduction of new services, and the elimination of services. Although some best practices for cloud computing are sound and likely to endure, organizations that want to use them must transform those practices into a detailed plan that they can apply, and they must update them to reduce risk and ensure proper evaluation of services and vendors.
